Overview
This brand-new guide focuses on sites along the 105-mile Appalachian Byway of Ohio that runs along the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The scenic byway makes its way across southeastern Ohio—from Nelsonville in northwest Athens County, through Morgan and Noble counties, and all the way to Clarington in east Monroe County. Sites along and near the byway—primarily state Route 78 but also state Route 284—include historic theaters, a jail museum, Miner’s Memorial Park, Big Muskie’s Bucket, and The Wilds, among others. ©2026
