Chickenology

Overview

Chickenology is a school enrichment program that helps youth in grades 6-8 use their science, technology, engineering, and math skills to discover how inherited traits and environment affect chickens. Chickenology’s hands-on activities spark interest in the ancestry, genetics, and inherited behaviors of chickens, from phylogenetic trees to pecking order. Youth also learn about artificial selection and Punnett squares—and they even design an incubator! ©2025.
